Vintage Neon Signs

Vintage Neon Signs

On our trip to Albuquerque last month, I was really taken with the amazing signage along way. I’m not 100% sure what the stipulations are, but I know there are historic preservation acts that require many of the neon signs along Route 66 to be preserved, even when the businesses close or structures are demolished.

ABQ is FULL of these huge signs, and I stupidly did not photograph a single one! UGH. Regret.

Luckily, there are tons of Flickr galleries dedicated to these bright beauties. Here are some awesome vintage motel neon signs that stand today, located throughout the country.

Silver Moon Lodge, ABQ, NM – We actually stayed here in 2007. Unfortunately, the lodge has since been torn down, but the sign remains standing.
