Keeping Cold

Keeping Cold

Fall means I get to wear all of my favorite things at the same time: boots, plaid and layers! I recently thrifted this rad two-tone vest in the mens section, and it’s been a go-to item ever since. This week has been especially blustery and chilly AND I LOVE IT! Though we’ve yet to turn on the heat, which is why I’m wearing this vest indoors. Once it goes on, it’ll be on till March or April, trying to hold off as long as possible!

Lately

Lately

Enjoying morning coffee in a sweater with the windows open and a chilly fall breeze passing through.

Painstakingly restoring this 1930s lace beaded gown. As in – I am in pain! I’ve spent hours hunched over this beauty, repairing the lace. My neck hates me.

Trying out a side braid. Mark called me Snooki.

Getting fall and winter items prepared / listed in the shop!

Leopard and Lace

Leopard and Lace

Saturday was the Chicago Blogger Meet Up! It was great fun meeting new local bloggers and catching up with some old pals. More about that tomorrow (plus a giveaway!) – so for now, here’s what I wore.

I’d planned on wearing something totally different, but at the last minute pulled this lace number out. Vintage square dance dress…so predictable, eh? What can I say, this silhouette is my go-to fashion comfort zone. The sleeves on this garment were originally much too large and puffy (as evidenced here), so about 5 minutes before leaving, I snipped them off! Now I’ll be able to throw a cardigan over it in the fall!

If you attended the meet up, please send me your links / photos and I’ll add them to the meet up page!

Two pink and leopard outfits two days in a row! I am loving this color combo; it’s a nice alternative to pairing animal print with dark colors. It’s too sunny to not wear some light, springy hues! Or at least until some time later this week, when it’s supposed to snow.
Not complaining! I am a winter weather girl, through and through. My dream life would be living in a cabin in the snowy woods on a lake somewhere. One last snow of the season? Yes, please!

Ladies, can we discuss hair?
I know many of you are able to go days without washing your hair, and swear by this method. My locks go from clean to greaseball in about 12 hours. It’s disgusting – ALL of me feels dirty when my hair is.   It’s so oily I don’t even use conditioner but a few times a month. I’m beyond jealous of those who can skip a few days between washes!
I didn’t wash mine for a day and a half (it was all I could take!), and my hair felt AMAZING after being washed today! So bouncy and full of life! I want to keep this up, but the in-between days are too much for me. Dry shampoo doesn’t do much on this mop. Do you have any tips? Or are you a rinse n’ repeat every day kinda gal?
PS – My move to WordPress is going to take a few more days, but it’ll be worth the wait! :)
